There is a war going on! And this war is played out every time you attend Mass at church. Are you attending the true standard valid Latin Mass or the invalid modern Novus Ordo Mass? First, they changed a few parts of the liturgy, then they changed some traditions and rituals, until finally you were practicing a whole new religion. the effects of which we can’t fully comprehend. This war was crafted with such genius, that you may not even be aware of what’s going on yourself? What I’m talking about is the Vatican II Novus Ordo and the future of the Latin Mass. Keep reading to see the significance of its doctrine, the power it holds, and why it matters to us all.
Latin Mass 2.0
Questions are being raised as to the validity and necessity of tradition as the Church prepares for life beyond the 21st century? Many Catholics were shocked by the changes former Pope Francis put in place. Allowing divorced Catholics to participate in the Mass in good standing, for instance. His changes were meant to weaken the structures that held up the church. Thus, it made it easier for the future Pope to fully dismantle the Latin Mass. Although many hoped with new Pope Leo XIV in office, he wouldn’t target the sacred scriptures; sadly, they were wrong as the new Papacy was instantly referred to as “Pope Francis 2-point-O”. This meant Leo picked up where Francis left off.
Many devotees to the faith don’t want to think what their life would be without the Latin Mass. It’s the one thing that’s unique to the Catholic Church, setting them apart from fellow Christians. By Vatican II announcing the reforming of the Church to be in step with the times, and be a more loving, inclusive church thus phasing out the Latin Mass… well, it was enough to try the patience of Job! The existence of the ceremony and rituals is critical for the church’s validity and relevance in our modern virtual world. The relevance of New Testament doctrine is bringing faith out of the dark ages and into the present, moreover many people know that the Holy Scriptures brings unity to God’s flock in a foundation created in the 16th Century.
Latin Mass matters as one true religion…
For those who don’t know what the Latin Mass is, I will briefly explain. But first it’s important to look at the Latin Mass from a broad perspective. The Mass is shrouded in mystery and full of sacred rituals and traditions. It’s spoken entirely in Latin (which no one’s studies or speaks anymore) and the priest faces the alter, away from you the entire Mass with one exception after the Consecration. The entire ceremony is formed in a rich history of rituals and traditions that are centuries old. When you speak of the Latin Mass, you are speaking about the one true faith.
The Latin Mass is first practiced in 1570 under Pope Pius V on July 14th. Father Uwe Micheal Lang (2022). The “Ordinary of Mass” (Ordinarium Missae) is a sacred ceremony rich with symbolism, ritual practices, and spiritual connection. The mass is said entirely in Latin conducted by the priest and supported by lower ranked priests and altar boys. https://adoremus.org/2022/05/the-shape-of-the-tridentine-mass-a-short-history-of-the-roman-rite-of%20mass-part-xvi/%0d Little has changed from the Mass’s early days.
An outline of the Latin Mass
The rituals for Latin Mass are always the same, all over the world. Firstly, the priest entering in silence, reciting Latin prayers asking God to forgive his sins and cleanse his soul. (known as the Act of Contrition). This allows the priest to say Mass. Secondly the altar boys perform the same rituals. Finally, after the altar boys are prepared to serve on the sacred alter, the mass begins. A complex and lengthy set of prayers are performed along with sacred rituals that represent Jesus’s time on earth up to his death at Calvary https://adoremus.org/2022/05/the-shape-of-the-tridentine-mass-a-short-history-of-the-roman-rite-of%20mass-part-xvi/%0d Father Uwe Micheal Lang (2022).
Latin Mass has a major effect on Catholicism, the direct result being that it has become the single largest religion in the world. In 2025 there were 1.4 billion followers https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/262883/worldwide-catholic-population-hits-14-billion Currently some estimates reached nearly 1.7 billion Catholics in 2026.
Novus Ordo deceiving souls to sin…
The idea of Church council setting laws and being the arbiter, creating final decisions as conflicts arose isn’t new. The first example was found in the Acts of Apostles 15: 1-41 https://drbo.org/cgi-bin/s?q=Acts%3A+15&x=0&y=0&b=drb. And since that reference in the bible, there have been a total of 21 Ecumenical Councils that have followed. The Councils changed doctrine to reflect the changing times, often shocking the devoted flock of the Church. The most recent was Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) https://www.catholicbridge.com/catholic/21-catholic-councils.php.
The Church was having a major problem; it felt the public perception of a church that was “out dated”. At the same time the world was experiencing the cultural experiment of the 1960’s (free love, equal right marches, etc.). As a result, the 1960’s movement was beginning to gain momentum and chaos, in turn they put pressure on the institutions to radically change. This caused the Catholic Church’s new council to give into the pressures to save itself.
A perfect storm consisting of dwindling church revenues , and drop in the attendance of the faithful would require the pope to perform a modern-day miracle. Thus, the reigning Pontif Pope Paul VI created a cabinet of Archbishops and Cardinals to modernize the church and bring it into the current century. The effect was many revisions to the Mass as well as and many faithful clergy resigning or asking to step down from their position. This meant one man was left to confide with Pope Paul VI https://churchlifejournal.nd.edu/articles/how-the-novus-ordo-mass-was-made/ (Yves Chiron (2021).
The man behind erasing Latin tradition
That one man was Archbishop Bugnini of Italy. Although he was a modernist of Church reform, he gained respect from his colleagues on both sides of the Novus Ordo issue. The pope chose Bugnini to deliver the Vatican II council agenda. The agenda needed to show transparency, so an internal election was held in 1967. Pope Paul VI was informed by Bugnini that they had the required two-thirds majority to move ahead. However, the reality of the results was invalid; as not all members of the voting pool cast ballots. Bugnini was given authority and had Pope Paul VI’s ear, meaning no one could confront him on the obvious speculation of his contrived conclusions https://churchlifejournal.nd.edu/articles/how-the-novus-ordo-mass-was-made/ (Yves Chiron (2021). In conclusion the Vatican II council was created on lies and manipulated data all crafted by Bugnini.
Relevancy in the 20th century
After the reign of Pope Paul, the VI, there was five successors’ popes https://www.ecatholic2000.com/list-of-popes/. Each new papacy brings changes aligning with the Pope’s beliefs on the Church. That is to say that some statements and whole sections of the liturgical are rewritten or all together written out. As a result, this means fewer signs of the cross, fewer genuflections, resulting in a shift away from God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Vatican II is changing the essence of the Catholic Religion. The result of two-thousand-year-old traditions and rituals built the Latin Mass. Remarkably; in a rather short period the Vatican II council reduced it to a virtual faith of generic platitudes. The idea that the Catholic Church wasn’t progressive and in-touch with the needs of the new modern parishioner gave the new council the method in which to deceive. By disregarding canonical Latin Catholic scriptures and doctrine; you can achieve acceptance of universal religion.
The danger in universal acceptance is achieved by reducing of divinity, mystery, and beauty of the Mass to the least common denominator. But This is the result of being inclusive and allowing anyone to be part of Church. Hypocrisy, and blasphemy on full display, allowing lay people to enter the Sacred Tabernacle, touch and distribute the Holy Host. The new Vatican II council’s writing out Latin doctrine in effect minimized canon laws by allowing all people to participate fully in the Mass. Sadly, this means eliminating the Blessed Sacraments, such as professing vows to honor and obey God’s laws.
Silencing opposition to modernism
But changing the rituals wasn’t the panacea that could move them into the future as a whole entity. It’s important to note that the new council was fully aware society was about to move into 20th century. They needed to be in step with the world, so Vatican II had to find a way that could speak to us all in this modern society. Logically the best option was to change the words/ language of the current Mass at the time. A new written language for a new Mass was the easiest way to get the fastest results. The written word wrote out God and wrote in personal feelings. In general, they invalidate the theory of Latin Mass matters by replacing God’s law with that of man’s law. Hence this makes it impossible to enter his kingdom under man’s law; it’s not recognized outside of our earthly realm.
Uniquely like no other…
But it is important to note that Latin was the choice as the Church’s universal language because it is the only language that has only one translation to all the languages of the known world. That is to say Latin was translated the same regardless of the foreign language scribed to.
In addition, the Latin Mass matters to us all in that we had unity and strength by our obedience and conformity. That is to say the Latin Mass could be said anywhere in the world, and you would have the same experience, same missal, same scripture, same rituals and traditions consistently https://churchlifejournal.nd.edu/articles/how-the-novus-ordo-mass-was-made/ (Yves Chiron 2021). The effect creates strong bonds of the faithful to the Church. A sense of unity; understanding we are shepherds meant to foster and protect God’s love. Latin is one of the oldest formed languages spoken universally and can only be interpreted one way to have one meaning. This made it possible for the Church to maintain unity and relevance throughout the ages.
Why Doctrine of Latin Mass matters to us all…
The routine of practicing and participating in Latin Mass isn’t common to most people. Although it’s the largest religion practiced in the world, yet many will go through life never experiencing it. Moreover, Vatican II’s Novus Ordo denies the faithful the beauty of the magisterial ceremony, it’s rich culture and history; and that’s one of its gravest sins. I’m going to tell you why the matter of Latin Mass is critical for us to understand and follow God’s message.
The Mass is the unbloody renewal of the sacrifice of Christ on the cross https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWTWaxaW_5A (Catholic Crusader Films 2024). Let’s take a moment and reflect upon that statement. Look deeper, you slowly begin to understand the majesty, beauty, and awesome power it possesses. This is the foundation of the Catholic Church. It’s why devotees of the Church talk of a possible worldwide schism at the mere thought of erasing it from our culture and rich history?
Each time we Catholics participate in Mass we are starting at the point which we are at the feet of Jesus and looking up at him dying on the cross https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWTWaxaW_5A (Catholic Crusader Films 2024).
Latin Mass matters of extraordinary becoming the ordinary….
The faithful possessing reverence, solemnity, humility, obedience; describing the Latin Mass. Without noticing, the once beautiful tradition formed by magisterium and divinity is turning into a mundane, perverted circus. The celebration of the Mass is significant and critical to Church existence. Taking special attention to maintain traditions linked to the Latin low and high Holy Masses.
Mass is extraordinary; creating stronger deeper understanding of God’s love. That love speaks to anyone and everyone listening. Non-Catholics alike can gain something of value from each celebration. However, in order for you to join the faith, you need to fulfill the Sacraments of the Church.
Latin Mass, matters of doctrine as “power of one”…
There is really power in the number one. The power is uniqueness in character and authenticity. The Catholic Church of the Roman Rite holds that title. The Roman Catholic (“RC”) Church is the only one true Church. It has only one true God, It has only one true doctrine. Followers have a sense of humility in knowing the rich history of the Church’s foundation. In addition, the true believer receives blessings and grace directly from the Holy Father.
God is everything, everywhere, at the past, present, and into the future. He hears all, sees all, knows all, the “Alpha”, the ” Omega” His immense aura of being is contained in one. In accordance, it’s only fitting to have one Church that accurately represents his one unique awesome being. To summarize the Latin Mass represents the one Church, also it is the one true faith and foundation to unify his followers. In conclusion, the doctrine isn’t just lip service to those demanding authenticity, it’s the standard to which all other religions are mirrored.
Novus Ordo making Latin Mass doctrine its target…
Let’s not lose sight of what the Latin Mass represents. In detail it’s us kneeling at Jesus’s feet as he is dying on the crucifix. Moreover, it’s the privilege to be present at this ultimate sacrifice of love for us. Today’s society is way too demonstrative and puts emphasis on “me” factor. That is to say we put the emphasis on ourselves first before all others. In contrast the Mass is not spoken for you, it wasn’t created to save your soul, it’s not a way for you to earn a “get out of hell card, pass, go directly to heaven either. The Mass is how you show respect, honor, and reverence to the Lord our God. It shows thanks for his sacrifices, his love, and his graces. The simplicity of acknowledgment, taking time to focus on him and letting him know of our gratitude.
Obedience is the life blood to our faith. The church depends upon it to foster, grow, and strengthen us. Despite its importance, Novus Ordo makes obedience an option. In addition, we aren’t told that we must take action with our faith; living daily as God commands us to do. But it’s clear the Novus Ordo understands that the Latin Mass is powerful; the centuries old binding that holds the book (the Roman Catholic Religion) together. The actions of weakening the Mass by taking away the true Church doctrine, thus it creates a void to be filled with their agenda of equal to all, superior to no one. Your soul, weak and loss of all power, you succumb to your slave master.
The Latin Mass matters as purpose….
The Mass gives you the ability to face adversities on earth with knowledge of what’s on the other side. It’s the template on how you should conduct yourself on earth. God literally wrote down for you, step by step on how to get to heaven in the Latin Mass. The main idea of the Mass as prayer. The prayer to our Holy Father to give us humility, obedience, and love to reach his kingdom in heaven.
Recommendations for Latin Mass matters to us all…
I recommend firstly that you attend the Latin Mass; and become familiar with it. It’s important to understand that it will lead you with clear instructions to God’s everlasting kingdom. Secondly You shouldn’t follow a false religion made up of man’s logic or theories; these change or alter with customs of the current society. The doctrine is the “blue print”, or a guide post on how the institution operates and handles social dilemmas and dogma. Thirdly you must live your faith daily. By acting upon your beliefs and faith you strengthen your soul against evil.
The Latin Mass provides strength in your belief and relationship with God and it is your armor for you to attack evil and defend the faith. That is why the Latin Mass matters. In conclusion, take time each day to pray and ask God to give you strength to fight sin and always have a loving heart.
