I bet you seldom think about how you’ll get to heaven? Between balancing family, work, etc. getting into the pearly gates isn’t on your priority list. You might go through life never giving it a thought or you figure when you’re in the last inning of the “game of life” you’ll then give God your attention, devotion, and love.
But this isn’t like college, up all night cramming for that final exam. You can’t wing it; there aren’t cliff notes on getting into heaven. Why is this such a taboo subject? Why does our society and religious leaders keep us in the dark on the only sure way to get into heaven? They tell you riddles, parables, and postulates; confusing you until you don’t know what to believe? They can use fear to keep you in line with the narrative they are preaching.
None of this tells you how to get into God’s kingdom. In case you’re wondering, is there a way to get into heaven? Read on to get the often censored, often untold truth on how to ensure your soul gets there.
I want you to think for a time in your life that you lost a parent to a long-suffering illness. You stood by and watched them turn into a shell of their former self; unrecognizable to any traits that made them familiar and unique
Maybe you had a child that was born with a congenital illness; you dreaded each day because you knew that it could be your child’s last. You prayed and held on so tight until the day you had to let go.
Maybe you instantly had to become caregiver and soul breadwinner after your spouse was in an auto accident; leaving them paralyzed for the rest of their life?
What do all these examples have in common? Read the last three passages again slowly and reflect on what the common denominator would be? I’ll give you time to think about it and come back to this a little later
It’s a universal belief in every part of the world that life is precious. It’s one of the few things you can’t place monetary value on. Great emphasis is placed on life, as it should be. In contrast, death is ignored and thought of as taboo. Just like “the talk” about money, or sex, death was a subject you were left to figure out on your own?
At times when you need to discuss a sensitive or difficult subject do you try and repackage it so the delivery is easier to take? You may use euphemisms or indirect inferences? Do you just simply ignore it all together? When we talk about getting into heaven, these are the exact strategies most people take.
You leave it up to your church and religious leaders to steer you in the direction to the path to heaven. Sadly, that is probably the worst thing you could do. Religion has been hijacked by heretics that have the most ability to reach the masses. PTL or the Papacy in Rome, makes no difference as they are marching to the beat of the same drummer.
Have you thought about the three earlier passages, and what they had in common? If you said suffering/sacrifice, then your more enlightened than your average laity.
In the first example, the parent suffered (through the horrible illness) and the child sacrificed (giving up their dreams and ambitions to take care of a dyeing parent).
In the second example the child’s life is sacrificed, and their soul is called home to God; the parent is left to suffer on earth.
The last example both of the spouses are made to suffer and sacrifice as they move forward in their new roles due to a traumatic event.
And that is the key to getting into heaven, moreover that is why you were born into this world and put on this earth. You are placed here by your creator to suffer and sacrifice. Sounds more appealing when our societal religious leaders tell us, “Love one another”, I know. But that’s not how you get into heaven…it takes more than acting it, you must live it.
God wants you to be like his loving son Jesus. But how do you become more like Jesus, you ask? You must be selfless; offering yourself so that others can be spared pain and anguish. You must sacrifice that others can know and experience love and joy. The importance isn’t to become God like, rather it is to know, fully understand, and live as Jesus did on this earth.
I’m sure you’re aware that God is a supreme being; not of this world? You probably also know that in order to reach God the father you must go through his son Jesus. I’ll break my theory down for you to help you understand. You must suffer/sacrifice to become more like Jesus. Jesus (through his father) then grants you entry into Heaven. Heaven allows you to be closer in proximity to God. Thus, when you are in God’s presence you will experience perpetual peace, happiness, and love.
Expressing the order in which you must follow to get into heaven is like a blueprint to a house or a map to a buried treasure. I know it sounds easy. Acts of sacrifice and suffering are almost uncomprehensible; pain, fear, anguish are felt on different levels. Most often the experiences are exclusive to the person experiencing it. Suffering and sacrificing isolates and define you.
Don’t fall into the trap and think that nobody knows what you’re going through. No one can understand my pain; I’m all alone. That is clearly the devil trying to make you feel worthless, confused, and fearful. STOP THINKING THIS WAY!
As humans, sympathy and empathy have been a defining marker between us and other species. We can look beyond ourselves and put others’ needs before our own. We can exercise priority and value to rationalize and validate our actions.
I want you to look at the story of Jesus in the gospels and realize that it’s God telling you how to get into heaven.
God gave us commandments to follow. These commandments were ignored and defiled; God was angered by this. He was going to destroy the earth and all its people because they greatly sinned against him. (the sin was the Israelites turned away from God and worshipped Ba’al and Moloch; offering child sacrifice as appeasement to the Demonic).
God the father stated the prophecy of atonement and blood shed must occur to destroy the evil on the earth. Before this was to pass, he decided to offer his son Jesus to shed his blood so all others could be spared on earth. He sent his son to earth, transforming his being so he could teach them how to love and have eternal peace. Jesus hoped that by teaching God’s way his blood shed could be spared. Sadly, that didn’t happen. God allowed the prophecy to be fulfilled. He agreed that his only son Jesus Christ to be offered up for all mankind that salvation would be found in his name.
You can see, after years of Jesus teaching on earth, performing miracles, it wasn’t enough. He knew he would have to suffer greatly and sacrifice himself to save us. The prophecy was fulfilled and Jesus was then commanded to his father.
Just as Jesus suffered here on earth before entering heaven, you too will have to suffer to get into heaven. If God expected his son to endure this to pass through the pearly gates, he’s going to expect you too as well.
Suffering and sacrificing can happen indirectly (you are stricken with a terminal illness) or directly (you decide to give part of your paycheck to a local family shelter which means you’ll have less money to buy the groceries you normally would buy).
I think that indirect suffering is more difficult because you tend to keep it to yourself. It pushes you to the breaking point, testing your faith. While direct is most often a choice you make; wanting others to notice you’re suffering.
I think my advice would be no matter what hardship or adversity you encounter in life, accept it with humility and a loving heart. You’ll find that the hard times, suffering, and pain are just as sweet as the good times. It’s during those times you grow stronger as you grow closer to God.
It also prepares you for transition of your final phase on earth; death. Most people, after they realize the magnificent transformation of body to soul, will have forgotten all about the ties that bound them to the earthly realm. They, just like you, will be elevated to higher consciousness of enlightenment.
It may sound strange, but death should be something you anticipate with great wonderment and joy as it’s the gateway for your body to transform into the soul and move from the earth into the ethereal realm of heaven.
Before your physical body is consumed by your soul and moves on to heaven, you’ll will have experienced many periods of anguish and pain in your life. This is the one thing that teaches how to be humble, forgiving, and loving. You will know the ways of Jesus, and his teaching will be a template for you to follow here on earth. The path you followed on earth was steep, dark, and treacherous. Now it is placid, fully lit, and the entrance to heaven is accessible.
