It’s an adage that we all have heard, and its conceptual meaning has been linked to a culture and race of people. At times it’s used to illustrate superiority and a special power you can cultivate. Ever hear of the luck of the Irish, or read about a person that has won three Lottery wins in the past year?
These are examples of the insidious evil of being lucky. We try to immolate them, copy their behaviors, and follow them hoping that the “good fortune” will be shown to us too. You might have done this yourself; adopting folklore and rituals based in superstitions. You may even pray to God and ask him for luck?
If this is you…STOP! This is nothing more than the devil using deceit to trick you into evil.
There is no such concept of luck in God’s world. Luck is a concept developed by man; it is self-created. It’s unfathomable to think we can be equal to God. Even more diabolical is the thought you could procure power to control and benefit both in social and financial manners. Continue reading to see illustrated examples of this dark evil that is born out of the 7 deadly sins.
The easiest and most common example of” luck” is when you admire someone for their business, social, or financial success. You feel they have the answer or hold the key to what you want to achieve; more power, more fame, or more money.
First, let me say, this is never a good thing to chase as you’ll always end up unfulfilled. The evil here is that your results will never be like the person you’re admiring. No matter how many books you buy, videos you watch, or conferences you attend, you will never get the same results.
The devil knows your frailties of human ego, lust, and envy. When you become frustrated and depressed, he tempts you with even more false promises. You soon will be chasing the next “newest thing”, not realizing you’re moving farther away from God.
The person who follows and reads all the latest guru’s books on How to get Rich, How to close on a House in 7 days, or How to get People to Like you, etc., more than they follow and read the Bible. The person who attends workshops, conferences, or paid engagements more than attending Mass at Church. These are examples of the insidious evil of luck.
There is an even more dangerous evil, one the devil knows will end in his favor 100% of the time if your soul is weak. It’s the luck of the draw, better known as gambling. It uses the disguise of chance and is founded on superstitions, magic, and deceit. The devil understands that greed fuels this, and is a powerful force that can transform any soul if you’re not protected.
The luck of the draw or chance is so diabolical because it deceives you into thinking you are playing on an equal playing field. Gambling, you have just as much chance of winning a financial windfall as the house. If a single mother of 3 in Florida can win a lottery of $250 million dollars, you can too? That is the trap set by the devil to make you believe you’re just one “chance” away from gaining your treasure.
When you don’t win, your greed becomes the driving force and your soul is in danger of being deceived by Satan. When you become desperate, weak, and depressed, the devil then tempts you with lies and traps you in sin.
Any devote Christian will remember the Old Testament referencing creationism. God is an infinite supreme being. He created us, the earth, everything above and below the earth, everything inside the earth. Genesis 1: 1-30. It’s a fundamental yet very powerful statement that clearly defines who and what God is. God is everywhere and is everything. Nothing is left to “chance”, or unfinished, impure, or imperfect.
So that means you are a perfect likeness of God’s spirit. You shouldn’t use luck or chance to gain an elevated advantage in life. God gave all of us “free will” and it is up to you and the choices you make as to whether or not you have a life filled with happiness or filled with woes.
Imagine you’re a person who follows a guru on self-improvement. You buy all their books, watch all their videos, and attend some paid speaking engagements. You will never get the same results and success as that person…why? Because God made you perfect and unique, no two people are an exact copy of one another.
The path of the person you admire and follow was designed by the Holy Master. It’s not universal or transferable to you. The outcomes and success they achieved was designed by the choices they made in life. Logically since people react differently in different situations, the outcomes will be different.
When you were created by God, he knew your life’s path before you were born. You must surrender yourself totally and trust his plan. You don’t need luck; you just need devotion to love and honor God. Pray to God asking for the ability to see his plan for you. Since you have free-will and are likely to make wrong choices at times ; pray for patience and wisdom to help you stay on the path to God and his kingdom.
He wants you to reach out and seek him and for your soul to join his kingdom of everlasting love and joy.
